ABOUT US:
X2REP is a grass roots non-profit organization designed to get youth talking. We serve as a communications bridge between youth and adults. Corporal Anthony Murril is a retired Correctional Officer for Prince Georges County Department of Corrections. He Started this organization because he was tired of counseling and mentoring kids once they become part of the system. Corporal Murrill, Aka Metro Man, has a unique way of getting young men and women to "TALK"...something most parents have difficulty doing. No child is too young. Corporal Murrill counsel/mentor elementary age students up to high school students.
We want to be proactive in the lives of today’s youth. We teach, train, and motivate youth for empowerment, that they may make positive healthy choices. In the sessions/workshops, they learn about self and community awareness (health and cultural awareness), conflict resolution, communication, etiquette, decision making, self-discipline, public speaking as well as other Life Skills. This is all done through The Arts, role-play, and group activities. As a result, we’ve found that the youth have a sense of self-worth, dignity, and unity. They tend to be more structured and self-challenging in their thought process, and make choices that are positive and productive.
The primary goal of X2REP! Inc. 2008 Youth Outreach program is to help build positive self-esteem and thereby to teach youth how to make better choices by giving them the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities within a safe, supervised, educational environment.
Our mission is to be a voice for today’s youth and provide a platform for them to be seen, heard, and represented. Whether we like it or not, we may have to raise somebody else’s child. We want to break the barrier that exists between generations, to serve as a facilitator as youth and adults begin to engage in dialogue, and to be a source of information on issues that are important to young people.
